Corrosive Consciousness | Bellamy Fitzpatrick
A new book from Enemy Combatant Publishing about Anarcho-Primitivism/Green Anarchism and the authors departure from an adherence to them, and specifically the tensions that have spilled out with its main proponents John Zerzan and Kevin Tucker.
This book is an attempt at collecting and refining ideas Fitzpatrick has written about and discussed, for the past few years on the podcasts "Free Radical Radio" and "The Brilliant." They are presented here in a form that the author envisions, albeit tentatively, as his final statements on the subject matter.
As the book is a commentary/critique of a larger discussion, some familiarity with the subjects and milieu may be required.
The author states:
Critique, in my view, is always implicitly complimentary: its mere existence validates the importance of its target, regardless of how harsh it might be... Anarcho-Primitivism drew me to anarchism in a way that the Humanist Left-wing or Right-wing versions never could have, and so I've lavished it with a good deal of this praise. Barring a sea change in the discourse with the Anarcho-Primitivists, what follows is a sincerely fond farewell.
